there's something so... inevitable about the dark, slimy, viscious dread we all find ourselves wading through on our torturous journey up the hellish river of whatever social media feed we find ourselves scrolling. it's like there was no other way it could have been here online. and i dont say that flippantly. there are a few things that took us here. i want to explore these four horsemen of teen suicide in the following piece of writing. in fact, i don't just want to. im gonna take the proverbial reigns of this damn websit and absolutely explore the four reasons why nihilism and ironic meme culture just go so damn well together. fuck you
ok sorry about that outburst
anyway
i can only speak from experience here, but i'd wager tha most people who spend a lot of time online do so because they don't get enough socialisation in their local irl zone. whether that's a highschool where no one watches shugo chara/cascada amvs or a small town where combat boots are a condemnation, one of the greatest assets of the internet is its.... i don't know how to say this without resorting to cliches....... its interconnectedness. i'll work on that.
